What the service is
prepfrancais is preparation software. It grades your French with an AI model against the TCF Canada format and explains what it found. It is not affiliated with France Éducation international, the CIEP, or any official TEF or TCF examiner.
Scores are practice, not results
The CEFR level we return is an estimate produced by a language model. It is useful for tracking progress and finding weaknesses. It is not an official result, it does not predict your exam score, and it cannot be submitted anywhere as proof of proficiency.
Your account
One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access.
The free allowance
Free accounts get a one-time trial of 3 AI writing corrections and 3 speaking evaluations, of which one may be the tâche 2 roleplay, plus a small monthly allowance for open-ended conversation practice. If a correction fails because the AI provider is unavailable, the attempt is returned automatically — you are never charged for work that was not delivered.
Payments
prepfrancais sells timed access plans to the paid features. The price, the plan length and the payment processing fee are all shown on the pricing page before you pay, and the payment itself is taken by our payment provider — card details never reach our servers. A plan renews until you cancel it, and you can cancel at any time at no charge. What can be refunded, and how long it takes, is set out in the refund and cancellation policy; how access reaches you is set out in the delivery policy.
Your content
What you write stays yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run it through grading and show you the result. We do not publish it, and we do not use it to train models.
Fair use
Do not scrape the exam material, resell access, or automate submissions. Rate limits apply and accounts that abuse them can be suspended.
Liability
The service is provided as is. We work hard to keep grading accurate and available, but we cannot be liable for exam outcomes, missed sittings, or decisions taken on the basis of a practice score.
