You are handed a situation — organising a trip, finding a flat, enrolling on a course — and two minutes to prepare. Then three and a half minutes in which the examiner answers, and volunteers nothing you do not ask for.

How the interaction works

The card gives you a scenario and a goal: you need information and the examiner is the person who has it. For three and a half minutes you lead — you open, you ask, you follow up, you close. The examiner answers what you ask and nothing more.

This inversion is what makes tâche 2 the one candidates most often prepare wrongly. A memorised monologue scores badly here whatever its quality, because the tâche is not testing whether you can speak. It is testing whether you can conduct an exchange.

What the evaluation gives you

Speaking is the section candidates practise least, because practising it alone usually means talking to nobody.

Tâche 2 needs somebody to question. The AI plays the examiner in role, so the one tâche you cannot rehearse alone becomes the one you can.

How the practice works

Four steps, from the first recording to one you would be happy for an examiner to hear.

Pick the tâche
One of the three spoken tâches, on its own or as a full twelve-minute sitting in exam order.

Prepare, then record
The preparation clock runs, then the recording starts. Neither waits for you, exactly as on the day.

Read your transcript, marked
What you said, written down and corrected — the fillers, the repetitions and the tense you dropped all become visible.

Record it again
The second take of the same tâche, right after reading the correction, is where a speaking mark actually improves.

Write question openers in your two minutes, not answers. Est-ce que…, Pourriez-vous me dire…, Qu'est-ce qui…, Combien de temps…, Y a-t-il…

Vary the grammar of your questions. Six questions all opening with 'est-ce que' reads as one structure repeated, and range is being marked.

React before you continue. 'Ah, d'accord — et dans ce cas…' turns a list of questions into a conversation.

Close it. 'Je vous remercie, c'est tout ce dont j'avais besoin' inside the time is worth more than a seventh question started at 3:25.

Everyday practical ones — renting a flat, signing up for a course, organising a trip, arranging a service. Nothing requires specialist knowledge.

Enough to fill the time and cover the goal, which is usually five to eight with follow-ups. Running out of questions at two minutes is the most common way this tâche is lost.
